IQ2 Battery Replacement | Guardian Protection

Need to change the battery on your Guardian IQ2 Panel? First, make sure your system is disarmed, and then place your system on test mode. Watch the video below for a few additional steps and then you’re all set!

To replace your panel’s battery, please follow these steps:

  • Log in to your Guardian Protection account.
  • Select System Info and then select Test My System.
  • Shut down your panel by selecting Settings, tapping Advanced Settings, and then entering your user code.
  • Select Power Down, then OK.
  • Wait for the LED light to completely shut off.
  • Release the panel from the mounting plate by pressing the tabs on the bottom left and right of your panel.
  • Hang the panel by the plastic tab, then slide the antenna from the wall.
  • Hold on to the panel and remove the power supply barrel connector.
  • Place the panel facedown on a flat surface on a towel or cloth to protect the screen.
  • Follow the wires from the battery to the white plug and disconnect it from the panel.
  • Remove the battery pack from the panel by pulling the colored tab until the battery is released (make sure not to use any sharp objects to remove it).
  • Place the battery with the bar code and model number facing up and line it up on the battery dock before placing the adhesive on the panel.
  • Connect the white plug into the panel.
  • Insert the antenna back into the wall.
  • Reconnect the power supply barrel.
  • Place the panel back onto the mounting place, bottom first, and line the clips before pushing firmly around all edges of the screen (you should hear multiple clicking sounds as this locks into place).
  • Press and hold the power button on the right side of the panel unit the LED light blinks green.
  • When power is restored, test your system before removing it from test mode.
